abstract="Evidence of severe liver damage was found in a young women who ingested an overdose of acetaminophen in a suicide attempt. Clinical features included prolonged nausea and vomiting and pain and tenderness over the liver. Biochemical findings included an SGOT value of over 3,000 and a prolonged prothrombin time, with normal alkaline phosphatase and near normal serum bilirubin.
