abstract="This article provides detailed information on new technologies for Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS). While the new types of APS are located at the pushbutton and provide quieter audible and vibrotactile indications, the pushbutton and speakers need to be located in close proximity to the departure point. The article also discusses installation and location concerns, pointing out the problems that are present when pushbuttons are not located close enough to departure points and crosswalks. Planners, engineers, and technicians all play a crucial role in the successful installation and operation of APS.<p />",
