abstract="Product liability lawsuits are often filed in connection with real life car-fire accidents. This paper outlines an engineering analysis developed by the author in the defense of a product liability lawsuit. It appears from recent media reports that some expert consultants for plaintiffs in product liability lawsuits have borrowed a page from movies and television, and staged vehicle crash fires for maximum dramatic effect; however, an analysis of those crashes is beyond the scope of this article.<p />",
