abstract="Twenty two cases of ophthalmic traumas acquired while operating a circular saw are presented. Useful vision of the injured eye was maintained only in 7 patients. In 15 subjects vision acuity ranged from photopsia and localisation of light to lack of photopsia. Thirteen patients were qualified for ophthalmectomy. The majority of patients reported that while operating a circular saw they were removing the blade guard which in their opinion made their work more difficult. These observations stress an urgent need for training of workers and redesigning of circular saws so that a blade guard should not disturb the work but provide and adequate protection against injuries.<p /><p>Language: pl</p>",
