abstract="Fifty-five negro and white pre-adolescent delinquent boys were administered a version of the Osgood Semantic Differential Technique designed as an exploratory measure of self.concept. Of the concepts tested, only one attained a significant level of difference between the two groups. &quot;Boys who get into trouble&quot; was perceived by the negro group as generally a more positive concept. The results are discussed in relation to current social forces within the urban negro community.<p />",
