abstract="A follow-up study has been made of 120 families whose 10-11 year old sons were the focus of an investigation of parenting methods (Wilson, 1980, 1982a, 1982b). A significant association was found between parental supervision and delinquency among boys up to and including age 16 which confirms the earlier findings. The results are compared with the findings of a recent Home Office study of parental supervision (Riley and Shaw, 1985). The differences in findings of the two studies are accounted for by differences in definition of &quot;supervision&quot;, the measure of delinquency, and methods of investigation.<p />",
