abstract="On the basis of national and foreign experience on liquidation of the consequences of natural calamities and catastrophies the article shows the necessity to introduce a course of medical training into the program of studies for the specialists of fire-fighting and rescue services of the Ministry for Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (MIARF). This training will ensure these specialists with adequate skills of primary medical and predoctor care in disaster situations.
