abstract="The author provides a treatment report on the psychoanalysis of a juvenile murderer, the focus being on the unconscious determinants of the crime. To obviate the danger of a folie à deux the analyst was observed in his efforts by four experienced clinicians-two men and two women who turned in regular progress commentaries on the course the treatment was taking. Work with the analysand centered around the question whether and how the crime could be "explained" or at least made susceptible of explanation. Treurniet's gripping case history-result of a scientific exploration work-is a demonstration of what the clinical practice of psychoanalysis can in fact achieve on such difficult terrain as penal correction and resocialization (in the framework of the Dutch Mesdag Clinic).

Language: de
",
