abstract="This paper proposes a new advanced brake assist system which considers the driver's ability and characteristics of gas pedal operation. It uses both external and internal sensors, such as laser radar and pedal sensors. By applying this assist system, it is expected that the free running distance can be effectively reduced before the driver steps on the brake.<p />",
