Abstract

As the place where adolescents spend a significant portion of their time-and the place where an increasing amount of violence is occurring-schools have become a primary location for violence-prevention activities. This chapter describes the range of school-based interventions currently being employed, comments on the availability of data regarding their effectiveness, and offers recommendations for improving the research and practice of violence prevention in school settings.
