Abstract

This comment on an article by Jones-Lee uses sensitivity analysis to examine what levels of defence expenditure might be justified by different estimates of the consequent reduction in the risk of a nuclear attack, of the numbers of deaths thus avoided, and of the valuation placed on a life.
