Abstract

There are several different methods by which the minimal cut sets of a given fault tree can be computed. In this paper we shall discuss and compare three such methods. Two analytical methods, a bottom-up and a top-down algorithm, and a simulative method will be considered. Finally, a new analytical algorithm for the evaluation of the minimal cut sets is proposed.
