Abstract

AUSTROADS has almost finished its national safety audit Guidelines, which will provide a focus for highway authorities around Australia and New Zealand. This paper reports on the AUSTROADS road safety audit project and provides a brief introduction to road safety audit, why is it needed, its potential benefits, and how it leads to safer roads.
