Abstract

This paper contains a resume of US. optometrists' activity in promoting highway safety which includes research into many aspects of vision and visibility as well as pressure on vehicle designers. It emphasises that Australian Optometrists must also take a stand on vehicle and highway design. They should, in particular, seek to have the "give way to the right rule" removed.
