Abstract

Introduction: Hip and groin injuries are prevalent in the AFL. These injuries are difficult to diagnose and evidence-based rehabilitation programs are lacking, resulting in high recurrence rates, highlighting the importance of primary prevention. In the AFL, hip and groin injuries are particularly common injuries in younger players, but whether these injuries are related to the increased demands of participation at the highest level or due to injuries sustained in the pre-AFL period is unknown.
